AVS delivers virtual binoculars to the Latvian Army
AVS successfully completed the contract to deliver the 4 sets of virtual binos to the Latvian Army Combat Training Center on Monday. The Latvian Army joins the Australian, Singaporean and Malaysian Army as well as several commercial training system vendors in selecting AVS virtual binoculars to deliver enhanced training capabilities.
AVS virtual binoculars provide soldiers with the ability to observe the battlespace and employ indirect fires, close air support and perform ISR tasks within a virtual environment.
The binoculars are 'plug and play' compatible with many common simulation applications such as VR-Forces, VBS and SAF-TAC as well as COTS engines such as Unreal and Unity. The binoculars can be integrated into complex training systems with multi-channel visual displays, such as JTAC domes or armoured vehicle simulators or paired with a laptop to provide a light weight deployable training solution.
AVS' virtual binoculars are one part of AVS' range of emulated military equipment, which includes individual and crew served weapons, electro-optic observation devices, rangefinders and target designators, radios and vehicle mounted equipment.
